April 4, 2018 – North Salem, NY –  World-renowned course designers Ken Krome (USA) and Alan Wade (IRL) will set the tracks for the 2018 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows, which include a CSI2* running May 8-13 and a CSI3* on May 15-20 at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY.

Krome, who hails from Westminster, MD, will return to North Salem for the second consecutive year to design the courses on the iconic Grand Prix Field at Old Salem Farm. The first week of the Spring Horse Shows offers CSI2* and USEF 5* jumper competition, culminating with the $50,000 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix, presented by The Kincade Group, on Sunday, May 13. The schedule also features a full range of events for hunter and equitation riders, including the $5,000 Old Salem Farm Equitation Challenge, which will shine the spotlight on up-and-coming riders on Saturday, May 12.

Wade, who has the prestigious appointment of course designer for the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) in Tryon, NC, in September will set tracks for the second week of the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows for the fourth year in a row. Week two showcases CSI3* and USEF 6* jumpers, as well as World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) competition. Highlights include the $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby on Saturday, May 19, and the pinnacle $131,000 Empire State Grand Prix, presented by The Kincade Group, on Sunday, May 20.

“The field at Old Salem Farm is quite interesting to create designs for, with its unique slopes and permanent obstacles,” said Wade, who is already crafting his design plans for the Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows. “I enjoy being at Old Salem Farm and we see really good sport there.”

Wade also designs the courses for the American Gold Cup CSI4*-W at Old Salem Farm in September.
